There are many potential applications for protective plastic hardcoatings. In the case of polymer optics, the need may simply be for enhanced hardness/abrasion resistance. Substrates such as injection-molded display windows or molded optics that may need to be cleaned in the field of use are strong candidates for plastic optical hardcoatings. We offer a low-cost dip-applied plastic hardcoating, as well as a sophisticated plasma polymerization vacuum hardcoating process. In certain glass substrate applications such as scanner windows, low friction hard surfaces are needed to maintain good optical transmission. Our proprietary thin-film processes are designed to meet many surface protection requirements.
