Dichroic coatings offer a permanent color solution that will not degrade or fade over time. Dichroic coated filters transmit the desired wavelengths and reflect the unwanted wavelengths, resulting in a high transmission coating with little to no absorption. Dichroic filters are designed for applications that require precise color of the spectral band. We produce many types of dichroic filters on glass and polymer substrates for color division applications such as entertainment lighting, specialty imaging, color correction and light trimming.
Dichroic Colors Below is a list of colors which are commonly inventoried. Any color may be designed or shifted to meet customer’s specific requirements. If our customer does not have a color sample to send us for photometric analysis, we can design colors based on a Rosco, Lee, Apollo or Gam theatrical gel number.
Color Correction Filters Color correction filters are designed to shift the Kelvin temperature of a lamp. CTO stands for color temperature orange. These filters are also known as skintone filters as they are typically used to improve the appearance of natural, warm colors, especially skin colors by warming the light. They are ideal for restaurants, hotels, restrooms, retail stores or anywhere people come together. CTB stands for color temperature blue. These filters are known as daylight conversion filters and are designed to cool light. They may be used in downlights or directional luminaries to adjust a warm light or halogen to match daylight.
These filters offer an affordable alternative to replacing the actual LED lights and the glass or polycarbonate cover offers added protection to the LED pod. Typical Applications:
